Met her in my dreams… I’m not quite sure where, but it had the feel of central London or somewhere in Europe. Definitely loads of old buildings around with a lot of history to them. She was around my height, shortish blonde hair and an accent I couldn’t make out although I think it might have been Italian. I was rushing around and I think I dropped something when she stopped me to let me know. I introduced myself to her and extended my hand to shake hers… Surprisingly she seemed quite startled by this and was extremely hesitant to give me her name but eventually told me it was Serina. I thought it was a really awesome name and told her that. We got to talking and found that we really got on very well and throughout the rest of that day we walked around together, chatting and generally having a good time. Quite suddenly though; she said she had to go to work for a while: so I said I would go with her and wait till she finished. We ended up in a dark and dreary basement type room where I proceeded to wait a while till she returned. I didn’t ask any questions, just happy she was back. We then walked around some more. While we were walking and after a fair while I decided that she was actually really cool and we got on well enough to want to try and further our relationship, so I suggested we exchange numbers. She very quickly said no, and started to explain that she had a boyfriend and how angry he would get if he even thought for a second she was out walking around with me and that it’s safer for us both to just leave the whole thing. I found this quite strange, as we’d already spent the whole day together, got on really well and actually now seemed quite close. Why would this boyfriend suddenly spring up now? I accepted it though but did suggest that she take my number in case she was ever in any trouble and needed my help… As we were exchanging numbers though, she suddenly got very scared and told me to run. So, I did and so did she, back to where her work was actually (with my phone)… Just then a group of 10+ men came round the corner; not looking very friendly at all. I was quite relieved she got me away from the confrontation once I realized that that must have been the boyfriend and company but was also equally disappointed that I hadn’t done more. My mission was now to see her again. The more I thought about it though, the more the picture came together… Serina is a victim of human trafficking and being held against her will… Why hadn't I seen it sooner?? After, I woke I vowed to make a song for her to make the world aware of her story and others like her. This is that song…
